IMAM MOHAMMAD IBN SAUD ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY
Where Technology Meets Human Potential
The IIT Lab develops AI and interactive systems that transform health, education, and communication. Funded by the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
ABOUT THE LAB
AI and HCI Research for Health and Wellness, Education, and Communication
At IIT Lab, we focus on assistive and rehabilitative technologies that enhance health, wellness, and quality of life. By applying artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction methods, we design intelligent systems that create meaningful impact in clinical practice, education, and everyday life.
Our work aligns with national health and wellness priorities through innovative solutions that support prevention, diagnosis, rehabilitation, and long-term well-being for diverse communities. We collaborate closely with academic, industry, and community partners to translate research into real-world practice.
Our Mission
To design, evaluate, and deploy AI‑driven interactive systems that create real impact in health, education, and communication; and to make these technologies accessible to diverse communities through research, teaching, and collaboration.
Our Vision
To shape a future where inclusive, innovative technology and AI measurably improve human well‑being, education, and communication.

DISCOVER OUR
Research Tracks
Brain-Computer Interfaces & Physiological Measurements
We develop technologies for emotion, pain, and stress detection using physiological measurements, brain–computer interfaces, and machine learning, creating non-invasive tools for clinical settings and everyday life.
Robotics in Rehabilitation & Therapy
We explore the integration of robotics, AI, and machine learning in autism therapy, working with therapists and researchers to develop therapeutic robots and design guidelines for child–robot interaction.
Virtual Reality, Motion Sensing & Rehabilitation
We investigate immersive VR and motion detection for both psychological and physical rehabilitation, including upper limb recovery after strokes, as well as phobia cases, designing engaging therapeutic experiences that help patients stay motivated throughout treatment and recovery.
